Process
The design process begins with a consultation with the client at Aughavannagh Barracks. It involves the selection of precious stones and gold, and a close consideration of the client’s preferences. All Veronica’s pieces are made entirely by her hand in her workshop in the Wicklow Mountains Her jewellery conjures a robust simplicity and contemporary nature that typify her style. The timeline for the creation of any piece normally takes between four weeks to six weeks. Veronica will take commissions that range from simple variations on her current work and remodelling of clients existing gold and gems. All pieces are dispatched using An Post registered post and a tracking number will be sent to you via email.

Diamonds
The tradition of using diamonds a symbol of love, affection and commitment goes back centuries. They were first mined in India. Being 10 on Moh’s hardness scale they make an excellent choice for engagement rings or a ring that is worn everyday. A diamond will sparkle like nothing else and they come in many different colours. Ruby
Ruby is said to inspire devotion and faithfulness within a romantic relationship. The fiery red colour can inspire sensuality in the wearer making it quite the gift for Valentine’s Day. It is the stone of undying love and grows warmth and compassion in the heart of the wearer. Ruby measures 9 on Moh’s hardness scale and is the birthstone for July and star sign for Cancer.
Sapphire
Sapphires are associated with romantic love, representing fidelity and devotion. They come in a rainbow of different colours making them a wonderful alternative to diamond. Sapphire measures 9 on Moh’s hardness scale and is the birthstone for September and star sign for Virgo.
Emerald
The mesmerising green hue of emeralds is a joy to see. They are a stone of inspiration and infinite patience. Emeralds embody unity, compassion and unconditional love. Emeralds were considered to be the lovers stone in Ancient Egypt. They measure 7.5 to 8 on Moh’s hardness scale and is the birthstone for May and the star sign for Taurus.
Aquamarine
Known as the gem of the sea aquamarine comes in a variety of soothing greenish blues. Evoking images of deep oceans and vast skies. It is a stone that celebrates the sea goddesses of ancient times. It measures 7.5 to 8 on Moh’s hardness scale. It is the birthstone of March and is the star sign for Pisces and Aquarius.
Tourmaline
The beautiful array of colours tourmaline comes in is an inspiration to see. They are said to be a stone of reconciliation fostering compassion and cool headedness. They measure 7 to 7.5 on Moh’s hardness scale. Tourmaline is the birthstone for October and star sign for Libra.
Lapis Lazuli
Lapis is the most beautiful deep celestial blue stone. It makes a stunning statement necklace and is a universal symbol of wisdom and truth. It was highly prized and used extensively in Ancient Egypt for jewellery. The gold flecks in lapis were like stars in the Ancient Egyptians night sky and by meditating on these colours they felt supernatural forces would transform their lives. It measures 5 to 5.5 on Moh’s hardness scale. It is the birthstone for September and the star sign for Capricorn.
Pearls
Pearls are formed within the shells of mollusks. Most pearls available now are cultured freshwater pearls from Japan. Pearls have been treasured by many cultures for thousands of years. Pearls are associated with faithfulness, loyalty, modesty and purity. Pearls must be kept away from harsh chemicals, hairspray, moisturiser and perfume. A special pearl cleaning cloth can be used to clean them. They measure 2.5 to 4.5 on Moh’s hardness scale. They are the birthstone for June and star sign for Gemini.
